To hell with "social issues". Any schmuck wants to marry a dog, let 'em. They'll breed each other out of their respective species anyway or at the very least spawn a race of human/canine hybrids who can lick themselves, resulting in the unforeseen repercussion of a drastic reduction in aggression.
Encourage people to serve in their communities, armed forces, charities, Peace Corps, whatever. Not mandatory but at least make it an attractive option to texting "ROTFLMAO".
Invest even more in education.
Support the arts and know that intellect without creative thought is like a pie without a filling. Or a car without comfy seats. Or...oh shit.
Realize that we have a limited amount of time on the planet, that there are lessons to be gleaned from the folks who preceded us and there are lessons to teach those who will take our place.
What else... oh yes: hug the next actor you see. I mean, only if you want to.
Wow! That was easy!
